Swap out Themes
BlinkFeed is one of the many widgets made available with HTC One M8. Very few people know that with this widget you can stay updated regarding the online feeds. You will get most of the feeds on your homescreen through this widget. Right from weather updates to date and time, latest news, top blogs etc. are made available to you on your homescreen.
How can you get this on your homescreen? Go to settings>personalize>themes and check for the theme that you like the best. You can make the visuals appealing to your eyes.
Remove Blinkfeed Widget
With blinkfeed you can automatically get the latest updates available on your screen. It is like information at a glance. Perfectly works for most people. But, at times you don’t really want everything on your home screen. This is when you need to remove blinkfeed from your homescreen. There is an easy way to opt out of blinkfeed in case of HTC One M8. Hold your finger down on blank space when you are on the standard home screen. Now slide over to the blinkfeed page and tap on the remove option. There your blinkfeed is off the hook.
Save Battery Power on Phone
Smart phones are a major let down when it comes to the battery. You will see that the battery does not stay powered up for long hours, and this can get frustrating. There is a way to save battery life on your HTC One M8. As it is this phone is known for an amazing battery life, and with a way to increase the uptime of the battery, this is bound to be a hit phone.
Turn on power saver mode by clicking on settings>power. You can conserve power as well as display the brightness. You will see that the power saver mode turns off vibration and data connection thus helping you save your battery life for a longer while.
You also have EPS which is Extreme Power Saving mode with HTC One M8 which is known to extend the battery life of your phone. With this EPS mode on, you will be able to use only the essential apps, and this is best used when you are traveling. You need your battery running, and with the EPS mode on, you don’t need to worry about the battery.
You can always click on exit button to disable the EPS mode when you don’t want to use it. While you are on EPS mode, you will need to open the apps that you want to use, else they will stay unavailable.
Docking the Folders
Let’s say you want to add folders to the dock. This can be done easily with the M8. You can begin by creating a new folder on the start screen. Now drag and drop the various app icons to the folder you just created. Give this newly created folder a name. Next drag and drop this app folder on the dock. You can remove any existing icon to bring this app folder on board. Once you are done, you can always access the icons within this folder easily.
Enable the Trace Keyboard
Used to the Swype keyboard? Well, you can easily access that keyboard instead of the regular keyboard with HTC M8. Go to settings>language and keyboard>HTC sense input and turn on the keyboard you wish to use. You can choose to operate using the trace keyboard or any other keyboard of your choice from here.
Home Theater Remote
One of the less explored roads related to M8 include using it as a home theater remote. All you need is the HTC Sense TV app on your phone to get started. You can control everything from your home theater, television, cable box etc. using this remote. You will need to follow the instructions mentioned with this app to enable the remote.
